Books and More Facility

In 2017 we were forced to relocate due to the cancelation of a building lease. This was a stressful and traumatic time in the life of the library. Thus we began to look for more stable facility options.

In 2019 were were able to secure a building for purchase so that we no longer have to worry about having to move and possibly loose our connection to the people of Jordan. The funds for this purchase were accomplished through some very generous donations as well as two "mortgages" financed through individuals in the states.

The principle at the time of origination of these "mortgages were around $200,000 with payments running around $4,000 per month. As of October 2023 that has been reduced to approximately $125,000.

This site will also serve as a home base for future development goals that include building two additional floors on top of the current building and the development of possible satellite locations in downtown Amman, Jerash and Madaba.

Project #1: Pay off Current Building Mortgages

There is still $125,000 remaining. Paying this off will help with providing additional salaries for staff, increased project budgets for the community and proceed to our goal of additional future sites.

Project #2: Build Two Floors on Current Site

The current two-story facility has been structured well enough to allow for two additional floors. This expansion would allow us to do the following:

Floor #3: This will serve as a true auditorium for ceremonies, classes and group trainings.

Floor #4: This will house work stations for locals and refugees to facilitate the teaching and practice of a variety of working trades.

Current Estimates: Inflation is strong right now in Jordan. If we were to begin this kind of a project today a rough estimate cost would reach over $500,000 USD which is 390,000 JOD

Project #3: Expand Through Satellite Locations

One of our long term goals is to expand our reach into different parts of Amman. We also hope to have an extension center in the city of Madaba and Perhaps Jerash as well.
